The Directorate of Extension, University of Agricultural Sciences, Mandya is entrusted with the responsibility of planning, coordinating and implementing the extension activities in Mandya, Mysuru, Hassan, Kodagu and Chamarajangara districts of Karnataka. These districts represent diverse agro climatic zones viz; the southern dry zone, parts of the southern transition zone, parts of central dry zone and the hilly zone of rich in agricultural potential and opportunities.

The Directorate is committed to bridging the gap between research and farming communities by facilitating the transfer of need based technologies and innovative practices to farmers. Our focus is on ICT-enabled extension, Participatory approaches and farmer centric programs that ensure timely access to knowledge, promote sustainable farming and empower small and marginal farmers.

Through collaborative efforts with line departments, development agencies and stakeholders, the directorate also emphasizes capacity building, rural development, entrepreneurship development, FPOs, environment awareness and livelihood security. We aim to strengthen the agricultural economy of this region while ensuring inclusiveness and resilience.

The University of Agricultural Sciences, Mandya through its Directorate of Extension, remains dedicated to serving the farming community and enhancing agricultural productivity, profitability and sustainability in southern Karnataka.
