At University of Agricultural Sciences, Mandya (UAS Mandya), we embrace the power of knowledge, regional empowerment, and sustainable farming. Rooted in the rich agricultural legacy of the Old Mysuru region, our university aims to be the catalyst for a new era of innovation and growth in agri-education.

Founded as the historic College of Agriculture at V.C. Farm in 1991, UAS Mandya has been nurturing agricultural talent for over three decades—offering B.Sc. (Agri.), diploma, and extension-focused programs to uplift our rural youth.

In early 2025, the Karnataka State Cabinet formally approved the establishment of the new agricultural university at the V.C. Farm campus—marking a long-awaited step toward regional agricultural advancement. Envisioned on the model of Shivamogga University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences, UAS Mandya will unite the College of Agriculture (Mandya), College of Agriculture (Hassan), College of Agriculture (Chamarajanagar), College of Forestry (Ponnampet), and the College of Horticultural Sciences (Mysuru) under its banner. Its jurisdiction will cover the districts of Mysuru, Mandya, Hassan, Chamarajanagar, and Kodagu

About Dean (Agri.), CoA, Hassan

Dr. K. N. Muniswami Gowda has served for 30 years in the cadre of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor at the College of Agriculture, V.C. Farm, Mandya and College of Agriculture, Karekere, Hassan. During his tenure he has teached subject like Entomology, Apiculture, and Sericulture to undergraduate and post graduate students of Agriculture, Forestry, Biotechnology and Food Technology. He has also guided PG students in Entomology. He has over 35 agricultural research articles, several scientific abstracts, agricultural manuscripts, agricultural technical booklets and 10 agricultural textbooks published in his name. Further, he has also published many research papers in national and International scientific journals and presented his research work at various national and international forums. He holds membership in several entomology-related societies and organizations across India.

Currently from April 1, 2024 he is serving as the Dean (Agri.) at the College of Agriculture, Hassan. During his tenure he has established an “Agricultural Science Museum” worth Rs. 12 lakhs at the College of Agriculture, Hassan, and has successfully organized a district-level "Insects Exhibition” for the past two years.
