At University of Agricultural Sciences, Mandya (UAS Mandya), we embrace the power of knowledge, regional empowerment, and sustainable farming. Rooted in the rich agricultural legacy of the Old Mysuru region, our university aims to be the catalyst for a new era of innovation and growth in agri-education.

Founded as the historic College of Agriculture at V.C. Farm in 1991, UAS Mandya has been nurturing agricultural talent for over three decades—offering B.Sc. (Agri.), diploma, and extension-focused programs to uplift our rural youth.

In early 2025, the Karnataka State Cabinet formally approved the establishment of the new agricultural university at the V.C. Farm campus—marking a long-awaited step toward regional agricultural advancement. Envisioned on the model of Shivamogga University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences, UAS Mandya will unite the College of Agriculture (Mandya), College of Agriculture (Hassan), College of Agriculture (Chamarajanagar), College of Forestry (Ponnampet), and the College of Horticultural Sciences (Mysuru) under its banner. University Communication Centre

The University Communication Centre (UCC) began functioning in July 2025, coinciding with the inception of the University of Agricultural Sciences, Mandya (UASM). Since its establishment, UCC has played a pivotal role in facilitating the Transfer of Technology (ToT) initiatives in Agriculture and allied sectors.

The Centre has taken the lead in various communication and outreach activities, including:

Monthly publication of the University Newsletter regularly.
Quarterly Farm Magazine published in the local language, focusing on regional Agricultural advancements and technologies for the benefit of farm community.
Annual University Calendar, highlighting newly released technologies, along with important updates on faculty and student activities.
Media collaboration for disseminating university-related information through print and electronic media.
Support for major university events such as Convocations, KrishiMela, and other public engagement initiatives.

Role and Structure

UCC serves as the coordinating centre for the University’s administration, research, teaching, and extension wings concerning publications, photographic documentation, and printing services.

To streamline publicity efforts, the University Publication Council was constituted in September 2025 with the Director of Education as its Chairman. Subsequently, the Communication Centre was formally established on 1^st October 2025 headed by the Editor and functioning under the honorary leadership and administrative control of the Director of Education. Its core responsibility was to publish journals, newsletters, magazines, and other relevant documents regularly both Kannada and English continuing its commitment to effective communication and public engagement.

Objectives of the Centre

To publish academic and institutional periodicals in English.
To publish ‘KrishiPadasale’, a quarterly scientific magazine in Kannada, aimed at disseminating research and technological advancements to farming communities and stakeholders.
To produce key institutional publications.
To compile, edit and print official materials for university events and functions.
